About Kimberly Mezera

Bio

Kimberly Mezera, MD, grew up in Wisconsin; in 1987, she graduated from the University of North Texas and received her medical degree and training at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. She completed her residency for general surgery at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas and then finalized her expertise in hand and micro-vascular procedures at the prestigious Hand Fellowship Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, New York. Dr. Mezera is recognized not only as a leader in her industry, but she has a love for teaching others as well. As the director of Parkland's hand and upper extremity services, she has spent over 13 years teaching residents about the latest techniques and procedures for helping patients recover from fractures, lacerations, tendon injuries, soft tissue and nerve damage. Dr. Mezera is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in the treatment of hand and upper extremity conditions, including pediatric cases. She has been honored by D Magazine as "Best" by her peers and in Texas Monthly for the past several years as a top physician.

The Hand and Upper Extremity Center of Dallas wants to be a haven of healing and recovery for people dealing with pain due to arthritis, carpal tunnel, pinched nerves and tendonitis in the fingers, hands, wrists, elbows and shoulders.
